Ubud #6 more extraordinary dance photos/Semara Ratih
Bumblebee dance
Pura Desa- Kutuh village, note gamelan
Gamelan musicians
gamelan orchestra
These musicians are extraordinary. I am following this "family troupe" because of the dynamic between the orchestra and the dancers. Very exciting, and the emphasis ebbs and flows between them. Real artistry.
Barus dance
This is the same dance that the young 12 year old son danced in the original photos that I posted. The father danced it....... (a warrior dance) and the power exuded was powerfully different.
He is AMAZING!!!!!
Here is the father now dramatically dancing as an OLD MAN
The mother is now a "bumblebee". It is a classic courtship of love. It was danced very fast, therefore even more difficult for me to capture.
A great program I discovered for editing my photos is
Picnik. It is linked with Picassa3. Upload your photos from Picassa3 to web and then you can edit. My photos for the dance performances are always too dark; making them unusable as they are. Picnik changes the exposure etc.
When technology works and can be Utilized by those of use not technologically saavy it is a thing of beauty
Wow Phyllis, these are amazing. What an adventure.
