Ibu blessing with holy water |
The first morning of Galungan, I climb the steps to the family Temple (pura) and find both Ibu and daughter Kadek already deep into the blessings. Over and over again they repeat the prayers inside the Temple and outside in the entire compound. It is something to behold. Tradition being passed down to the next generation. Upholding the deeply held faith and respect and beauty of their traditions.
I live with an upper middle class family with resources. I often wonder how poorer families can pay for all the offerings for all the celebrations? Is it rice or offerings?
